Hey,
I got an email today that I just had to share with you. Michelle
and Andrew Geffken came to our Expo last year and bought our
Secrets to Building Sites That Sell Course. She also took
advantage of the coaching that I offered with the course.
Well, now the lessons she has learned have come home in a big
way! I want you to see all of the principles she has incorporated
in her first major product launch. Scarcity, generating cashflow,
building an email list, offering a backend product, creating an
event around a story, developing an email campaign…the list
goes on and on and this is NOT in the “internet marketing” field
or the “teaching how to start a business” field.
Michelle is taking a very specific niche by storm and dominating
it using sound marketing principles. You HAVE to read her email!

Hey Steve!
Where have the Geffken’s been recently? Pondering all the
invaluable lessons you’ve taught us and figuring out how to apply
them to our specific situation.
You’ve got to check this out!
We wanted to stop selling individual used books (it is very time
consuming) and thought about the principles you use in launching
a product. We realized we could use those same ideas to have an
Unlaunch or closing down.
Wow! We mixed in scarcity; building up the event; a crazy deal
and targeted marketing. The ultimate goal was to not only clear
our basement of over 1,000 books in just one week but to
dramatically build a targeted list. And then throughout the sale
to promote a survey for our Art of Seeing ebook at the sale’s
end.
The sale started last Wednesday. All books are $2.50 each
(that’s a steal).
As a reference point, we usually sell $150 to $250 of used books
a month at regular prices and our group Home Library Builder
usually has an average of 1 or 2 folks join a month. We started
the sale with 144 members once the bouncing emails had been
deleted.
As of last night we’d had $1,165.00 in sales! And there are
hundreds of books still to list with 40 new orders waiting in our
inbox. People are joining and then ordering within a half hour.
But best of all is how many new members we have! We accomplished
this growth with just SIX targeted promotional emails!

Yes, it’s a crazy amount of work and downloadable products look
even more attractive right now! But it’s worth it. I’m not so
much excited by the specific results as much as seeing that if we
put into action some sound marketing principles, our business
will grow. It works!
Whether learning the value of building a list or the details of
launching (or unlaunching!) a product, we couldn’t have done this
without watching you at work, Steve!
The sale ends Thursday, November 16 with everything remaining
just $1.00. Feel free to pass this message along to your
readers.
blessings,
Michelle Geffken
