Hey,
Sorry to be a little tardy with this. Getting the word out for Secrets to
Building Sites that Sell has taken on a life of its own…I have never seen
such a buzz!
Just last Wednesday, we had over 200 people sign up to be on our
“first to know” list so they can take advantage of the
teleseminars and interviews I am doing. 200 people in one day!
The moral of that story? Don’t dawdle when we launch Secrets to Building
Sites that Sell or you WILL miss out! We only have 200 copies (more on the
reason why, tomorrow).
——————————————————-
And speaking of launch, we now have a launch date:
Tuesday, May 16 at 1 pm Pacific Standard Time.

We have been covering some of the challenges you face when starting a
family business online. I have covered these on my blog.
Challenge #1 – “Where do I start?”
You need to follow a step by step plan. If you can find someone who has
been there before and he will take the time to show you the way, then
starting a family business on the Internet is very do-able. More details
here:
http://www.familyebiz.com/blog/2006/04/26/
Challenge #2 – “How do I overcome the technical barrier?”
If I came to your house and showed you mouse click by mouse click, every
step, on your computer screen…would you be able to do it? I know you
could! More details here:
http://www.familyebiz.com/blog/2006/05/01/
Challenge #3 – “Where do I find the TIME to start an Internet business?”
Here are some of your comments…
“Carving out time to do the work required, for certain seasons of
the year, because of workload at the office.”
“My biggest challenge is knowing how to do it without wasting
time.”
“It would add onto my current responsibilities. I don’t work
outside the home for income.”
“Finding the right niche / spending time on it – my first attempt
failed miserably”
“Limited time”
“Time between the current breadwinning job and household duties.”
“Finding time to work in a business while still having a full
time job.”
This one is tricky because unlike the first two challenges, I can
not give you any more time.
You see, I can give you the tools and a plan to get started. And I
can get you past the technology barrier. In fact, those who
have already seen my course can testify to that.
But I can’t give you more than 24 hours in one day. I can’t wave
a wand and take away your current responsibilities. But here is
something I can do…
I can give you a tip and some practical help.
First the tip…
Two golden hours.
If you will reserve two hours each day for business development, one in the
morning and one in the evening, you will have a business that generates an
income in one month.
But here is the catch.
The first hour must be totally devoted to product development.
No phone calls. No email. Nothing but creating or finding a product
to sell on your web site.
And use your most productive hour to do this. Mine is in the morning before
my brain gets crowded with all the details of the day.
The second hour must be totally devoted to learning something new that
will help your online business.
I invest in my continuing education. And for one hour in the evening, I
relax and pop in a tutorial, an audio CD or read an Ebook that will help me
take my business to the next level.
Now, I can’t give you an extra two hours in a day, but I can help you
maximize the two hours that I know you are going to carve out and guard
jealously! (You are going to do that, right?)
You can save an extraordinary amount of time in starting your
own business by watching my step by step videos. You won’t have the steep
learning curve that everyone else has!
You can also save an extraordinary time by doing things right…the FIRST
time! That is what having a guide is all about. You will not go down rabbit
trails or find your self at dead ends. You will have the complete picture
through my audio CD’s and Workbook.
You will be able to get your business up and running…quickly and easily.
In fact, I have a very special treat for you.
I have put video snippets of the course on the Internet!
That’s right.
You can watch eight short clips of the actual CD-ROM from the multi-media
course, Secrets to Building Sites that Sell.
This is a huge course with 3 CD-ROM’s packed with screen capture video
tutorials, 5 audio CD’s, 3 more CD-ROM’s with bonus screen capture video
tutorials, a Workbook to go with the audio CD’s and a Getting Started
manual. And we will have tons of bonus material for those act quickly!Â
So take a peek now and then come back and post a comment on my blog.

Hi Steve
What autoresponder do you use, and would you recommend? I hesitate to get any service that will cost me monthly, when I’m not making any money yet.
Janet,
I only recommend two autoresponders…aweber and 1 shopping cart.
They each have advantages (In fact, my next post on Thursday will cover these two). But both will cost about $30 a month.
I understand about not wanting to commit to a monthly expense when you are not making anything yet, so perhaps you can create a free blog at blogger.com, choose a product at Clickbank.com and when you have made your first $360…you will be able to afford a year’s worth of autoresponder service.
Autoresponders and newsletters will really cause your online business to grow because you will be interacting with your visitors over time instead trying to propose on the first date.
All relationships take time and familiarity to be successful and your visitor’s relationship with you and your web site is no different.

Hi Steve
Thanks for your insights. I found your use of free blogs very liberating! I also want to ask if I could use free blogs other than Blogger, such as MSN space. That is, will they get indexed by search engines as effectively as Blogger (which is owned by Google, did you say?) MSN space seems to have more functions. Or should I just go with Blogger because there’s more likelihood of being found by Google? Thanks for your comments Steve!
Hi, Steve,
Thank you for patiently putting together this product. I am extremely excited about getting it and teaching myself and my boys the steps to getting an interneter business started.
Janet,
I don’t know if Blogger posts get indexed by Google faster than MSN space posts, but why not do both?
You could post the same posts to each one and cast out two fishing nets instead of one.

Hi Steve!
I was wondering if you are releasing the price of your
Sites That Sell materials. I just want to be prepared, talk it over with my husband, etc. before the release date. Can you at least give us a ballpark figure…or do you know yet? Thanks and may the Lord bless mightily the work of your hands!
Oh…one more question…do you have an affiliate program for the Sites That Sell materials OR since this is only a very short release time you are not going to have an affiliate program for it. Just curious
.
Have a GREAT day!
In Christ,
Sheri
Sheri,
I will release the price today (just need to talk about a few expenses with my duplicator, first).
Also, I am glad to see you thinking entrepreneurially with the affiliate program, but it is such a short window, I will have to think about it.
I have some MAJOR announcements today, but they will have to wait because I am off to take my seminary finals right now. I’ll be back a little later with a killer offer!
Steve
I have been looking all over your site for the price and can’t find it. I think you need to let people know this before the release date so they can talk it over and pray about it. I don’t think it’s fair to expect people to “act quickly” when they don’t know the price in advance.
Hi, This program would be of great help to our family. My husband has just recorded a french christian album. We want it available as download as well as selling the actual cd on the net. To have your tips would help us have an amazing website that could really help take this take off. We would like to have this become a part of our income so my husband wouldn’t need to work so hard physically,be with the family more and concentrate on what God has put in his heart. It would also be great to teach our children these skills. Thanks,
Danielle Genereux
