The interesting thing about life is that lessons are everywhere. You never know when you might learn something. My recent life lesson at Disneyland had far-reaching implications. I’d like to share them with you.
Recently, we give a conference in California. Since we were in the area, we decided to take the kids to Disneyland. Now, we’ve all heard the complaints – short rides, long lineups, and a lot of time spent standing around instead of playing. Surely, there was some way around this problem.
We went online, seeking a solution to this problem. There was an incredible software program that promised to help us enjoy more rides with fewer lineups. Perfect, I thought. That little program shortened our wait times to 10 to 15 minutes. We enjoyed more rides, and stood in fewer lines, then if we wouldn’t have done our research.
Before I give you the name of the software program, let me explain the lesson I learned. It helped me build my business, and it can help your home or online business too.
The software was simple. We entered the rides we want to go on, and the program did the rest. Our printed schedule helped us avoid lineups, and enjoyed more rides. And all it took was a bit of planning.
Disney also has a “Fast Pass” system, which works nicely with the software. Again, if you were willing to plan ahead and postpone gratification, you are rewarded with shorter wait times and more rides. In this system, you obtain a Fast Pass ticket from a machine near your preferred ride. On the ticket is printed a time. Show up at that time, and you can enter the Fast Pass lineup. You avoid long delays, and sweep on past those who have made no plans.
As you can see, Disneyland rewards those who plan ahead. Using a combination of the software and the Fast Pass system, you can go right to the head of the line. By postponing immediate gratification, you win a larger reward.
You can apply these lessons to your own home-based business. If you’re willing to delay gratification, to wait for the big reward, and to plan carefully, you will sweep past the competition.
There may be a long line of competition in front of you. You want to enjoy a ride, and they do too. If you want to get to the front of the line, you have to make a plan. By understanding that rewards may not come immediately, you can build a plan for long-term success. This will help your home-based business grow and thrive.
Planning involves research. Using online tools, you can research your niche and discover what your market wants. Research keywords so you can improve your rankings in the search engines. Choose your tools wisely – there are differences of Internet search tools, and some are better than others.
You can make more money in less time on the Internet, but it takes some planning. Develop a well-thought-out plan, preferably with input from someone who knows the business and can help you. If you can delay gratification to join the shorter line up, you will enjoy sweet success with your business.
Take time now to research your niche and make plans. The lessons you learn will take you to the head of the line, passing your competition on the way. You can make $2000 a day in an Internet business. Buckle up, keep your hands and feet inside – enjoy the ride!
