Hey!
This is Stephen Beck with FamilyEbiz. Last week we were talking
about finding JV partners and I wanted to do a continuation of
that topic this week, but I have had so many emails this week
with the same TWO questions that I wanted to address these
questions first.
Here is the first question:
“I am having trouble fitting this year’s FamilyEbiz Expo into my
schedule, when will you have another?”
I have no idea.
That’s the truth. No gimmicks. No marketing ploy.
Putting on an event like this takes a HUGE amount of effort and
time. I firmly believe that I have an obligation to the
FamilyEbiz Expo attendees, so I go ALL OUT to make the event
really first class.
I recruit top speakers from around the world, negotiate with
hotels, do weekly preview calls and send lots of emails to get
the word out. This year, I even gave free workshops in Texas to
generate more awareness. All of this takes a lot of time.
Time I may not have next year.
You see, I will be finishing seminary next year and will probably
be taking a pastor position or planting a church. I have no idea
what my time constraints will be, so I am not even planning on a
FamilyEbiz Expo next year until I see what God has in store
first.
So, if you are sitting out this year waiting on the FamilyEbiz
Expo in 2008…I wouldn’t do that. Seize the opportunity now
because there may not be another in the foreseeable future.
The FamilyEbiz Expo will be Feb 23-24 in San Antonio, Texas.
Now here is the second biggest question I am receiving…
“To attend the FamilyEbiz Expo, you charge $397 for one person
and $197 for a guest. What will I learn and is it really worth
it?”
This question really has several answers to it.
First, if you think you are going to learn everything you need to
know about an online business in 2 days, you are coming with the
wrong expectations.
It is not humanly possible to teach you everything there is to
know about an online business in 2 days. We will have eight of
the world’s top experts in Internet marketing speak for 90
minutes each. They will tell you all they can about their
particular expertise, but there is always more to learn.
Will your mind be brimming with ideas to pursue when you leave?
Yes! Will you have a good foundational knowledge of what it takes
to succeed on the Internet when you leave? Yes.
Which brings up another question. “Will this be a pitch-fest?
Will you get everyone together and do nothing but try to sell
them a product for 2 straight days?”
No! I have heard this sort of thing happens, but it doesn’t
happen at my event. My obligation as a Christian who puts on a
family business seminar is to see that every speaker gives you as
much information in his 90 minutes that he or she can.
If you like a speaker. If what he or she says makes sense to you,
and you resonate with that speaker, you may find yourself saying,
“I could do that, tell me more!” I would be remiss if I did not
give you an opportunity to learn more from that particular
speaker.
So, if you will be offended if a speaker offers continuing
education the last 5 minutes of his talk, then DO NOT COME to my
FamilyEbiz Expo!
In fact, if you are offended by the whole idea of paying for
knowledge or paying to shortcut the learning curve, then the
FamilyEbiz Expo may not be right for you. But then, you should
probably ask for a refund from the college or technical school
you attended as well!
And that really is the crux of the matter, isn’t it? You are
coming to the FamilyEbiz Expo to learn how to start an online
business that will give your family the freedom you have always
wanted. And freedom does not come cheap.
In fact, I have spent dearly in time and money to achieve the
freedom I enjoy currently. And I would defend my freedom (and the
freedom of my family) with my life.
What is your freedom worth to you? If you are already free, then
God bless you and use that freedom to help others gain freedom as
well. If you are not already free, then consider my FamilyEbiz
expo. Is it a magic bullet? No. Will you have to work hard? Yes.
Does it offer the chance to gain freedom for you and your
family…oh yes, a thousand times yes!

Stephen,
Having attended the recent Expo, I would add to your answers as follows…
To Question #1: If you missed it, you NEED the audio CDs. If you’re doing any internet marketing or considering it, the superb material that came out of this event is MUST-HAVE stuff!
To Question #2: It’s amazing to me how frequently we underestimate the value of a single good idea, technique, or proven method. My wife and I spent over $1500 to be in San Antonio at this event. We would do it again in a heartbeat. In the few days since the event, we’ve begun to implement what we learned and are already seeing results.
And… to you and your family, Stephen… what a fabulous job you guys did putting this event together! Thank God you’re called to the ministry, but I’d hate to see your calling in one area limit your calling in another. We saw a “vocation” in action at this event… in every sense of the word!
