Find Products That Are Not Over-Saturated!

Here is another email I recieved this week. I have edited it to
give you the jist of it.

Greetings Mr. Beck,

…What I REALLY want to do is start up a website company.  I
have several passions: homeschooling #1, scrapbooing, quilting
and knitting.  I am always told I would make a great homeschool
consultant.  But I would be willing to try anything.

I learn pretty fast and I am really loving reading all about
internet business.  Being realistic, I see for every ten sites
starting up probably only one makes it.

My number one problem is not having cash or space to carry
inventory and number two is how to find products that are not
already saturated on the web.

I’d also like to know how much the membership site would cost?
I appreciate your willingness to share with us newbies.

Here is what I wrote back…

Cheryl,

As far as your niche goes, homeschooling is a hard niche because
homeschoolers are notorious for not wanting to spend money. Also,
unless you are already a recognized expert, it is hard to be a
consultant.

That said, there are still products that are in high demand and
have a relatively high markup. Meaning, you will get more bang
for your time spent if you choose a course that you make $50 from
as opposed to a book that you make $5 from. So here is my advice:

Step #1
Choose a high demand  homeschool product that has a high markup
(Of course it has to be something you can resell or get an
affiliate commission from)

Step #2
Write a COMPLETE review on it and create a one page web site with
that review. You have to be known as the resident homeschool mom
expert on that product.

Step #3
Do your keyword research and optimize your one page web site for
those keywords (use wordtracker). Then add an email capture box
(use aweber) and a shopping cart (use paypal) to your one page
site.

Step #4
Write some articles that are optimized for your secondary
keywords and submit those to article directories on the internet.
This will lead people back to your website and provide those all
important backward links that the search engines like so much!

Step #5
Find forums that discuss that product and become the forum expert
with a tactful link to your site in the signature

Will this take some time? Yes.

Will this cost some money? Yes.

Will this be worth it? It depends on how much work you are
willing to put in to it.
