<p>Networking Tips: Networking for Introverts – Event, Process or Part of Life by Patricia Weber, Business Sales Coach for Introverts, Shy and Just Plain Sales Reluctant <a href="http://www.profcs.com/app/?Clk=3083266">http://www.profcs.com/app/?Clk=3083266</a></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">On a recent teleclass where I answer introvert and shy in business and sales questions, a gentleman observed that my focus for business building seemed to be slanted toward networking. His take was networking are events. I’ve found as an introvert I’ve just thought of networking differently than maybe some extroverts. When I try it the extroverted way, I usually regret it. In all situations, networking is like open-heart surgery: it takes time. Rush it and you may as well have never started it because you can do more damage than good.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Networking groups.</strong> A group meets for a purpose and intention of networking, it may have some structure, people say they are committed and members have a similar audience they want to reach. All good ingredients that can get results but the mindset that treats this like an event or process doesn’t find those results.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Networking events.</strong> These can be either business or social: Chamber of Commerce, professional organizations monthly or weekly meetings, and specific celebratory events like anniversaries shared with others. When they lean toward business, you often find a mentality in action, “He who leaves with the most business cards wins.” That’s exhausting for an introvert. Really, what is the purpose if you haven’t met someone you want to continue to get to know?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Networking at events with other purposes.</strong> Conferences or seminars have networking, but it happens naturally as you move from one activity on the agenda to another. This is a bit more controllable in terms of savoring your energy before, during and after if you are more introverted.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Networking with your current connections.</strong> This is where the results are from all of the above, and your life events. Talking with Ms. Amos at church who happens to have a niece in the financial planning business. Ms. Amos says her daughter is considering changing work field. Do you ask yourself, “How can I help with that?” and then if you find you can, do you suggest to Ms. Amos to have her daughter call you?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">If someone had a diet that worked, would you ignore it? Then why would you not listen to every conversation, at every path in your life and ask yourself, “How can I be of help? What can I offer to the situation?” Then act on this. Networking is part of life. And don’t rush the surgeon. Perfect for the introvert? With our innate skill set and some strategizing.</p>

You do it by combining promotion emails with good web copy both in the emails and on a <a href="http://8weekstoprofits.com/emailsandteleseminars.htm">teleseminar</a> registration page so the maximum number of people will participate.</p>
<p>The first step I take is to send out 3 emails to promote the event. For example, if I am doing a teleseminar next week, I will promote the teleseminar using a broadcast email. This is not like the follow up emails in my autoresponder. Everybody on my list gets the broadcast email all at one time.</p>
<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-493" title="people-looking-at-computer" src="http://www.familyebiz.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/people-looking-at-computer-247x300.jpg" alt="people-looking-at-computer" width="247" height="300" />What should go in a promotion email? Here is an example, &#8220;Hello, next week I will be holding a teleseminar. The phone number to dial in is as follows.&#8221; Even though the teleseminar is free, promote it like there was a charge for it. This is why a registration website to obtain their name and email makes sense.</p>
<p>To promote a teleseminar when you work from home part time, use good copywriting. There should be bullet points on your emails and web pages that highlight what topics are going to be discussed.</p>
<p>A good strategy is to provide a list of topics that will be covered. If your teleseminar is about &#8220;The 5 ways to earn money at home in 30 days or less,&#8221; include that on the website. This way you build up a sense of curiosity and desire with your prospects. Here is another example:</p>
<p>&#8220;7 keys to maximizing the savings on your car and the role each one plays.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The keys to making sure your business does not become a casualty in this recession and instead becomes the next great American success story.&#8221; This illustration is just an example of what you can write on your website. It does not have to be exactly worded the way it is worded here. What you want to do is just figure out what works best for you and your business and make sure that your website is worded and communicates that message accordingly. Otherwise you will not get the results you want.</p>
<p>&#8220;The 5 Traffic Generation Strategies They Do Not Want You To Know About because if you did know, you would cut into their profit streams and start making all of this money for yourself.&#8221;</p>
<p>As you can see when you work from home part time, leverage is key and well-written copy is one of the best forms of leverage you can employ when you sell your knowledge online. A great example of a website that does this well is www.fastinfoproducts.com. Check out their bullet points.</p>
<p>The emails used to promote the teleseminars need to create enough interest so that the reader clicks through to the registration webpage. In the first email you can promote the registration page a week from the event. You can promote it again 2-3 days later. Finally, you can send a final reminder email on the day you are hosting the teleseminar so that if they forget about it, they will remember to make sure they get on.</p>
<p>When using these techniques to promote teleseminars, you will be amazed at what will happen to your income when you work from home part time in this business.</p>

As an example, say you were to approach a table with 5 people in a restaurant. On the other hand, if everybody at the table points to that person, you are even more likely to take their word for it. That is how search engines work.</p>
<p>If you are selling information and your website is about how to save money on weddings, people may believe you. However, if thirty people also say that your website is about that topic or even one hundred people, Google will think, &#8220;This website must be about that topic.&#8221; Google is even more likely to believe that when it visits your webpage and sees titles and content about saving money on weddings throughout the website.</p>
<p>Utilizing this strategy allows you to get high rankings for a number of keywords and phrases instead of one. Why? Articles get ranked in the search engines and they point back to your webpage. Using articles is like having a number of sales professionals promoting your products and services for a number of keywords and phrases. With this strategy you will have a number of people find your website. This link is the payment you receive for writing the article because it equates to traffic from the website as well as better positioning in the search engines.</p>
<p>So here is an overview of this strategy in a nutshell. To start a coaching business you provide great article content and allow other website owners to use it. <p>Let me tell you a little bit about how I got into webinars. I owned a remodeling company in Bryan / College Station, Texas for 20 years, and then I decided to attend Seminary. I’m 2000 miles from home in a strange place with no job, and I’ve got to figure out how to make a full time income in my part time while I’m going to Seminary.</p>
<p>So I turned to the internet and created my first info product, which was basically nothing more than finding kind of an abandoned meeting space. A car dealership wasn’t using their meeting space anymore. At least it had electricity and a bathroom. I invited a bunch of teens and their parents to a live workshop. I held a two or three – maybe it was three or four – one hour workshops with them, and I video-taped it. </p>
<p>That was my first product. </p>

<p>I laid the recordings down on DVDs and here were some of my issues: We sold a lot at first. We would go to home school book shows and sell some, but I had problems getting sales after the initial launch. I had problems with getting consistent sales each and every week, and I had problems breaking into new markets.</p>
<p>Somebody told me, “Hey Steve, you need a higher price product. It’s really under priced because it’s an eight hour workshop, only for $97. I bet some of you even have it. </p>
<p>At that time, I decided I needed a higher price product. So I created “8 Weeks to Profits” which is a $800 home study course. That’s quite a bit more than that $97 DVD, but I still had problems getting sales after the initial launch.</p>

But I had problems getting sales after the initial launch. I had problems getting consistent sales each week.  I had  problems breaking into new markets. Does that sound like a broken record? It’s the same problems that I had with my $97 DVD. </p>

<p>Using webinars saved this product and solved all my problems of getting more sales, getting sales consistently and automatically each and every week, and tapping into new markets.</p>
<p>Webinars allowed me to make a six figure income, in my part time, while I was attending seminary. That’s a pretty amazing feat – not because I’m that smart. I’ll be quite honest with you. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed – so I was struggling to go through seminary because I hadn’t been in college or in school in 20 years. Here I am going to Seminary, reading all these thick, thick books, and trying to make a living and be a dad, and a husband, and everything else at the same time. </p>
