This past Saturday was a blast for both of us. We drove to the Kolache Festival and enjoyed kolaches, booths and people watching. We even survived the heat.

Saturday night we ate dinner with some friends. We decided to cook dinner together and enjoy the conversation, including theology, business, work, education, kids. You name it, we probably discussed it.

As I thought back on Saturday night, I was reminded of how important it is to work together as a team. We each took a part of dinner and prepared it. By the time we were ready to eat, we had all put in our effort to make our dinner fabulous (eggplant parmesan, salad, crusty bread and homemade cookies)

Even when you are a solopreneur, you can have a team. You may not work in the same office, but you can all work towards the same goal. We have several people on our business team that all work towards a common goal. Who is on your team? How are you working together towards your goal?

You’ve researched your niche, carefully selected your products, and advertised them on the Internet. A few customers have placed orders, and your search engine rankings are improving, bringing new visitors every day. You’ve got all the basic small business website design principles in place. Yet you’d like to take it to the next level, to make amazing profits with your online business. So what are you missing?

Well, we offer more to those who ask for more. My customers, like you, appreciate what is familiar and comforting. Everyone does it. You see a new book from your favorite author, a new CD by your favorite singer, a new movie starring your favorite actor, and you can’t wait to experience it. You loved the last book (or CD, or movie) and wanted more. They offered more, and generated more sales.

It is much easier to sell your product or service to people who already know you. Hopefully, their purchasing experience was a pleasant one, so they like and even trust you. People prefer to buy from those that they like and trust, those that are familiar.

So how can this help you? Well, you can start by capturing the e-mail addresses of visitors to your site. Easy-to-use software collects e-mail addresses automatically, and can even send e- mails to your clients without your help. This effective Internet marketing technique will help you build a successful online business.

This is why you must do two things – constantly look for new products they would like and constantly keep in contact with them. What would you say if I had you over for a visit and then never spoke to you again? You would think I was rude! But if you never contact those who visit your web site, are you not doing the same thing?

Develop an e-mail list so you can stay in contact with your customers. Include an opt-in page, preferably on your homepage. Offer your customers something valuable in exchange for their first name and e-mail address – consider a newsletter, free article, or similar offering. Your e-mail list will grow quickly.

Here is where the money is. If you build a responsive email list, every time you send an email out, someone will buy what you are offering. Hopefully, a lot of someones! Do this every week and you can kiss that day job goodbye in no time flat and make amazing profits with online business.

But here is another principle to keep in mind. You can sell $27 ebooks all day long and eventually you will become a millionaire. Imagine how much quicker that will be if you sell $97 ebooks with audio and video. Then $447 home study courses. And finally $5500 bootcamps and workshops! Maybe a cruise to the Bahamas with me as we create your online business!

Give your customers what they want, and they will always return. Some customers will want more – more information, more attention, more products and services. Offer them quality information, and keep them informed of everything you offer. You and your customer will enjoy a long and happy relationship.

You Are What You Read!

You’ve heard the expression “you are what you eat”. But I think another expression is equally true. “You are what you read!” What are you reading lately? Are you reading anything at all?

I try to start every morning reading my bible. Am I a busy person? Yes! Do I have projects and emails and everything else clamoring for my attention? Yes! But first things should be first. And I’m trying to kill two birds with one stone. I’m reading my bible in Spanish to get my bible reading in and learn Spanish at the same time.

And guess what? I go MUCH slower in Spanish, since it is not my native language, but my retention is much better because I am laboring over the text trying to interpret every word. And I am finding more details than if I skimmed over a passage I have read a dozen times in English!

But what else do I read?

Lately, I’ve just finished “The Slight Edge”, by Jeff Olson. It’s a great book on doing the little things over time and getting big results. Kind of like starting with a penny and doubling it every day. Day 1 = $0.01, Day 2 = $0.02, Day 3 = $0.04, Day 4 = $0.08 and so on. By Day 14, you would only have $81.92, but by Day 30, you would have over 5 million!

Olson goes on to take the principles of the Slight Edge to your health, relationships and finances. He dismisses the idea of quantum leaps saying they are nothing more than the Slight Edge bearing itself out over time. Little actions that seem to yield little results at first, even for months, but eventually pay huge dividends!

Another book I just finished is “Unique Ability”. A great concept I got from that book is to NOT work on the things you are weak in, you can always give those tasks to others, but work in accordance with your strengths. Now, I am not talking about character deficiencies. If you have a problem with anger, by all means, get it under control. But why should you work on your graphics skills when someone else can do that for you on Elance.com for $50? Work on your strengths!

And finally, I am in the middle of “The Power of Full Engagement”. What a wonderful book about managing your energy levels during the day so you avoid burnout and fatigue. Do you find yourself flagging by 4pm? Then you need to pick up a copy of this book. Schedule your daily tasks according to your body’s natural rhythms!

So the question is …would I rather have a million dollars or a millionaire mindset. The millionaire mindset every time! I can lose a million dollars (and many people do!), but I can make it back if I have a millionaire mindset. And that only comes from reading good books!

I have a new appreciation for those of you who work during the day and run your online business in the evenings or weekends.  You see, I have jury duty this week and I have to put everything on hold until I find out if I’m picked for the jury this afternoon.

We have a lunch break and I’m in a coffee shop where I can get a little work done.  I’m going to send some cool vacation cards and some follow up cards to our clients.    If I have time, I’ll schedule some appointments, also.

Why do I mention this?

If you are limited with your time on some days, you MUST do 1 business building activity.  What business building activity did you do today?

Before I left for jury selection, I sent an email to one of my Send Out Cards team members to schedule a business opportunity meeting.  I won’t see cash in my bank account today from that email.  But, when we have that meeting, I will see cash in my bank account and growth in my SOC team.

A little work on the RIGHT ACTIVITIES each day “will” grow your business to the next level. I guarantee it.

Make Amazing Profits Using Drop-Shipping

Drop-shipping is the coolest internet concept you’ve never heard of. With drop-shipping, you have no inventory, no warehouse, and no stock cluttering up your home. Simply sell the products through your website, process the orders, and have the wholesaler ship it directly to your customer. It’s like having free products to sell online!

Think about that. No inventory and no shipping. You just take the order and someone else ships the product. Drop shipping has a few advantages over affiliate sites. Affiliate sites are where you recommend a product and then send your customer to that website via an affiliate link so that you get the credit and hopefully a commission.

But a lot can go wrong. The customer may not make it to that site. Also, you have no control over what that site looks like, or changes made to that site or how your customer will navigate around on that site. The biggest problem is the fact that you are not collecting the money to ensure you get paid!

Drop-shipping, on the other hand, saves you money, while letting you retain complete control over your own website. You have no shipping costs, no inventory to store or count. It’s as close as you can get to having free products to sell online! Just think of what you could sell using drop-shipping:

* Home based gift business drop shipping

* Gems and Jewelery-making Supplies Drop-Shipping

* Candle wholesaler/supplier drop-shipping

* Fabric, upholstery, and trim

* Cast iron banks

* Home security products home business drop shippers

That’s just a start – there are thousands of opportunities out there!

Although drop shipping sounds like the best thing since sliced bread, finding a wholesaler or a manufacturer to drop ship can be a challenge. Not all wholesalers want to mess with drop shipping and many on the internet who pose as wholesalers are not wholesalers at all…they are cleverly disguised “buying clubs” or “internet malls” designed to separate you from your money. They are drop ship sales scam artists and not dealers with wholesale products to sell.

So who can you trust? Chris Malta to the rescue! He operates the Drop-Ship Source Directory, a listing of reputable wholesalers who offer drop-shipping. His company of dedicated staff researches each new listing, ensuring that there are no scam artists. New information is added daily, and all new drop-shippers are carefully screened.

Information Products: Should You Give Them Away For Free?

When selling information there is a very good chance that someone will ask you to give you your information product to them at no cost. How should you handle that request? This article does not discuss giving products away to friends and family. That is your choice. Also not up for discussion here is giving bonus ebooks away as a special promotion. That is a specific marketing strategy that can be discussed at another time. What this article discusses is the concept of people contacting you out of nowhere and asking for your product for free.

On a regular basis someone contacts me requesting that I give away my course to them for free. Actually, this happens to me almost daily. Typically, the exchange will go as follows, “I just figured I would give it a shot. I was wondering if I could get your product for free?” While I normally do not respond in the way I am tempted to respond, I often wonder what that person would think about me if I came to his or her house asking for free stuff?

Or if I waltzed into her place of work and asked her to give me what she sells at her job free of charge? Of course if I did that, the answer would be no.

Yet people still ask me for my products for free. I always respond that they need to pay for them so they will value it. Besides that, I do spend time and money on my products, so I too need to make a profit.

I am a perfect example of this. I have a lot of products on my computer that I have never looked at. The reason why is because these products were given to me for free. Those very same products that if I paid for them, I would have read or used. Since I did not pay for them I have no value attached to them and thus no motivation for using them.

This is something that I deal with on a regular basis so I am very familiar with it. Another technique that many people use is they will ask me if they can receive my product for free and then pay me once they have used my product to make money. The issue is people with this mindset will never make money. They might be very well intentioned.

However, because they have not invested any money into the process they are lacking a critical component that is necessary in order to be successful. Therefore, they will not make money and I would give all of my products away for free without making any money in return. Since I have my own family to support, this will not work. Besides, there is an investment that I have to make to produce these products.

The bottom line is you need to invest in the products to get value out of the products. This is true in most areas of life. If there is not some cost associate with something, there is also little value associated with that thing.

Consider how I do business. There is a huge demand for people looking to make money online. They are looking for the exact steps that they can take. They want to be held by the hand and walked through the process. This is what I specialize in and is why I do well. I create step-by-step video tutorials that show people how to get into profit mode quickly.

If you do the same in whatever market you decide to target, you will have products in high demand and will be very effective at selling information.
