Hey
This is Stephen Beck with FamilyEbiz.com
Last week I promised to give you details on a something we have
been cooking up since the FamilyEbiz Expo. We found that a lot of
people reading my newsletter have been asking the question, “How
to I start an online business?”
Well, we have decided to hold a free teleconference on Saturday,
March 31, 2007 to give you the basics. (Mark Your Calendars) I
was going to tell you all of the details this weekend, but a
small emergency came up.
No one was hurt, but I am minus a vehicle now. I am still sorting
through all the details and I will send you an email tomorrow
with more information…
In the meantime, I wanted to leave you with the answer I sent to
one of my students earlier this week. She asked, “How do I get my
web site to be seen in Google, so I can get more visitors and
thus, more sales?”
Here is the answer:
There are actually several ways to get seen in Google:
1. Paid advertising – Google will allow you to pay them and the
program is called Google Adwords. I advise newbies not to use
this route until they understand marketing a little better.
2. Natural (organic) searches – this is where you optimize your
page so that Google will know what you are about. You choose a
keyword like “Christian Home Business” and then use that keyword
in (1)the title tag of the html of your web page (2)the H1 or H2
tag in the html of your web page (3)sprinkle that keyword
liberally through out the text on the page (4)use that keyword in
a “backward link” to your web page.
Backward links are when other pages link to your page USING YOUR
KEYWORD. Sorry for the shouting, but that last part is very
important!
3. Articles – send your article to article directories with your
keyword in the title, in the body and in your bio at the bottom.
Your keyword in your bio will serve as a link back to your site -
a backward link.
4. Press Releases – submit a press release with your keyword in
the title, in the body and in your bio at the bottom. Your
keyword in your bio will serve as a link back to your site – a
backward link.
5. Blog posts – post to other people’s blogs with your keyword in
the title, in the body and in your bio at the bottom. Your
keyword in your bio will serve as a link back to your site – a
backward link.
All of this assumes that you have done some keyword research to
determine which keywords are the best for your particular niche
or product.
Hope this helps.
